4th of July

For Fourth of July we decided to stay local and have a very low key day.  We have been busy almost everyday doing something and then the weekends were nonstop busy so we wanted to take this holiday and relax :)  It was perfect! We took Lucy and Gavin to the movies to see Toy Story 3D, this was Gavin's first trip so we were nervous as to how well he would do and surprisingly he did amazing!  I forgot my camera...shame on me I always have it...thank god for camera phones haha  Sorry for the horrible quality pics but you gotta love camera phone pics :)
Lucy was so excited to see the movie and of course she had to have popcorn...just like her daddy :)
Gavin was so amazed and just sat at the edge of his stroller looking at the screen in awe

After the movie we were off to Grammy & Papa's house for dinner and to watch the fireworks
They have the best view of the lake and the fireworks :)
Steve and Gavin played around and were silly
For the first year ever the pool was too cold for Lucy to go swimming so she just dipped her feet in :)
My Princess striking another pose
Grammy always makes yummy desserts :) Lucy thoroughly enjoyed her Angel Food Cake with chocolate syrup on it...(She didn't want her picture taken haha)
So much LOVE :)
Excitedly waiting for the firework show to start...they are so cute together
Gavin and I on his first 4th of July :)
Lucy did sparklers with Steve & Grammy
Gavin played with all his toys and had a blast getting kisses from his sissy...they love each other so much
It was such a nice, low key, relaxing Fourth of July!

Gavin's Crazy Hair

For the minute Gavin was born he has always had a ton of gorgeous hair.  I love my silly little man and his hair :)  It was a HOT summer day and he has played outside for a while and then came inside to cool off and he was having a blast in his highchair and his hair looked crazy....Lucy was calling him crazy hair, so I thought I would take some pictures of our little man and his crazy hair...Love him!
Isn't he soo handsome?

Love the hair my little man...thanks for all the smiles :)

Independence Day 5k Fun Run

July 3, 2010

My friend Janelle organized and hosted the Independence Day 5k Fun Run to benefit Project HOPE and we decided to participate.  I had a lot of anxiety about the race due to my knee, this would be my first time trying to walk for a long period of time let alone being in a race like setting.  I asked my friend Michelle if she would do it with me too because she use to be my walking partner and I knew she would help push me to do my best (Steve's a runner and I knew he would want to see how far he could run I didn't want to hold him back).  The morning of the race Lucy was so excited she kept telling me that we were gonna win...haha innocent, naive child, I knew we would never win my goal was to not come in last haha.  The race was really fun and amazingly my knee did great! The weather was perfect, we had a lot of friends who did the race and the scenery around the race was pretty.  After 30 minutes of power walking pushing the double stroller I was exhausted but with Lucy cheering I had bursts of energy.  We were towards the back of the group and were so far back we couldn't see anyone in front of us, so Lucy thought we were the winners...haha  Michelle and I kept saying "Yeah Lulu we won your race" and Lucy was so excited.  We finally finished the race and were not last...YEAH, we won in Lucy's eyes and I was excited to finish it and not be last.  Michelle and I finished in 42 minutes which sounds like a long time but for being only 60 days after knee surgery I was proud of my time.  Thanks Janelle for putting on a fun race and giving me the encouragement I needed to sign up :) Thanks Michelle for being a great walking partner as always :)

Disneyland for Lucy's birthday, cont.

Our third day at Disneyland was filled with more excitement and Disney magic. We started our day at Goofy's kitchen for the character breakfast.  The food was fun and yummy! I loved how silly the characters were with the kids.  Lucy and Gavin laughed so much and we all had a blast!
Playing bear paw games :)
Goofy even came out of the kitchen to say hi!
So sweet, Chip even gave Gavin his bottle
Of course you can't see Chip without Dale :)
My happy kiddos drive out of Goofy's kitchen...Bye
Yeah more characters :)
Lucy lost her marbles to meet the newest of all the princesses, Princess Tiana
Off to Mickey's house we go
We saw Mickey again and Gavin was very interested in him this time around and not a ceiling fan haha
Gavin could not stop touching Mickey he held onto his finger and wouldn't let go. He was so cute!
Of course the Birthday Princess had to make a wish at Minnie's wishing well before we left
After a fun and character filled breakfast we spent another fun day at Disneyland riding tons of rides, shopping, and getting autographs...on the way back to the hotel both kids fell asleep.  As I gathered our stuff and waited for valet to bring the car around we got our last visitor...Goofy! He decided it was only fit to tip toe around the stroller and then lay his head on it and pretend to sleep...Perfect ending to a perfect three days of birthday fun and celebration!
